Believe it or not, keeping the exterior of your car clean will improve gas mileage. Friction plays a large part fuel economy so you can save gas utilizing this tip. When individuals wax and polish their car, their car looks great AND it increases gas mileage for the vehicle.

Another tip to save gas is to accelerate before approaching an incline. This will give you added momentum to scale the incline saving gasoline along the way. As you approach the top of the incline, gradually depress the gas pedal before reaching the top. This way you use the momentum of the car to pull you over the top, much like a roller coaster.

When it comes to purchasing gas for your car or truck, it is best to gas up in the morning. That's the coolest time to buy your gas. If you wait until the afternoon, the gas expands and you will get less for your money. Night time is the next best time to put fuel into your vehicle, but the gas will be coolest in the morning. If you have a large gas tank, this tip is especially beneficial.
